The City of Syracuse Water Department states that it provides retail water service to the entire City of Syracuse and, through wholesale and other service agreements, also supplies water to individual customers and portions of the towns of DeWitt, Onondaga, Geddes, Camillus and Salina, and supplies source water to the villages of Skaneateles, Jordan and Elbridge. Because the north side of the city is connected to a system supplied by OCWA, that area may receive Lake Ontario water from time to time.
